A whale with a length of about 8 meters died after colliding with a Barnegate Bay waters in the American state of New Jersey. The incident took place on Monday afternoon and was confirmed by Marine Mammal Strading Center (MMSC).

According to the authorities, around 3:40 pm, a boat collided with the marine mammal, the impact being so strong that the boat was close to overturn, and a woman was overboard. Fortunately, it was not injured.

The whale could be seen struggling in the water after hitting the boat.

Witnesses in the area described the dramatic scene. Kim Mancini, a local from Lacey Township, sent a video to the local news station, declaring that the whale seemed “in great suffering” and was desperately trying to reach deeper waters, but without success. She says she was visible wrong with the huge mammal.

“She got under the boats … It was a crazy experience,” she said.

The Center for Marine Mammals (Marine Mammal Strading Center) said that, about 50 minutes before the accident, he received a call announcing that a whale was observed in Barnegate Bay near the Gulf. Center staff, coastal guard, New Jersey Maritime Police, and New Jersey's wildlife and wild flora.

Officials said that, after collision, the whale was seen resting on a sandbank in the small water.

An MMSC employees and Fish and Wildlife officers approached the boat, but could only reach 30 meters from mammal. The tidal conditions at that time prevented them from reaching the sandbank to examine the whale, officials said.

The whale was later declared dead on the sandy bench, according to the MMSC.

The preliminary results of the necropsy showed that the whale was in poor general condition, a poor body condition, with external cuts, ecchymoses on the dorsal side, blood in the lungs, empty stomach and gastric injuries, officials said.

Before the whale was buried on the beach, samples were collected for additional analysis.
