Radosław Sikorski also stated that Israel “abuses strength”.
The future US ambassador to Poland Thomas Rose reacted to these words, who stated on the website X that Israel not only warns international law, but even risks the lives of his soldiers to do so. Then the ambassador in a completely absurd way compared the situation in the Gaza Strip to the situation in the Donbas occupied by the Russians, asking the question whether Ukraine and Poland should feed the people living there.
Some time later, Donald Tusk wrote: “Poland was, is and will be on the side of Israel in his confrontation with Islamic terrorism, but never on the side of politicians whose activities lead to hunger and death of mothers and children. This must be obvious to nations that went through the hell of World War II.”
Although it is not entirely clear to whom the prime minister directed his entry, you can guess that his addressee was the Ambassador Rose.
The whole thing is important because it unfortunately speaks a lot about both Donald Trump's man himself, as well as about Poland's relations with the USA. The future US ambassador in Warsaw has clearly mistaken whether he would be the United States ambassador or Israel.
Above all, however, Thomas Rose apparently does not know that there is no such custom in diplomacy that the ambassador [w przypadku Rose’a taki, który nie tylko nie złożył jeszcze listów uwierzytelniających, ale w ogóle nie przyleciał nawet do kraju przyjmującego, czyli w tym wypadku Polski]”he distinguished” the head of diplomacy of the country in which he is to be an ambassador.

Even more of the above situation, however, tells us not so much about the ambassador itself, but about Washington's perception of Poland and American diplomacy. In recent weeks, prime ministers and bosses of diplomacy of most European countries spoke far more critically than Sikorski about the activities of Israel in the Gaza Strip. The media did not report that they would meet with reprimands from US ambassadors, i.e. people standing in the diplomatic hierarchy much lower than the ministers, not to mention prime ministers.
What is not in one capitals is, however, in Poland, apparently, the American diplomat is convinced.
Unfortunately, this is part of the poor tradition of American diplomacy, which in Warsaw often behaves in an arrogant way. Nicks, for which Polish employees of the American Embassy are also responsible for some of them have almost become the norm of US diplomacy in our country.
Rose has already interfered with Polish policy before
The embrace of the facility by Rose, unfortunately, will most likely not change anything for the better in this respect, since he allows himself to be inappropriate before coming to Poland. Before the situation described above, Rose also allowed himself other, equally improper behavior, which was manifested by public interference in Polish politics.

The expression of the latter was, after the announcement of his nomination for the ambassador, ostentatious maintaining contacts with PiS and the surroundings of Karol Nawrocki, with the simultaneous ostentatious ignoring of the second, it so happens that the ruling part of the Polish political scene.
Just maintaining contact with the opposition is something completely natural. However, in a situation where the future US ambassador avoids contacts with one of the parties to the political dispute, and at the same time flashes with contacts with the other, which he additionally publicly supports, the question of whether Thomas Rose intends to be an ambassador in Poland or Soviet in the spirit of a governor, unfortunately must appear.
In Polish realities, this will most likely mean that Rose will become PiS favorite, which is paradoxical considering how much the Polish right claims that it cares for the prestige of the state.
In the whole case, meanwhile, it is neither about PiS, PO nor about this or another party, but just whether we respect ourselves and whether we can finally afford almost 40 years after the end of the Polish People's Republic, regardless of the obvious imbalance in relations with the United States, but not to be the object of desperates from the “older brother”.
How Poland should do against Thomas Rose
For this to happen, the Ambassador Rose should meet with a cool reception after arriving in Poland. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at least at the beginning he should be accepted not by the minister and not by the deputy minister of foreign affairs, but as it is, otherwise in the case of ambassadors, by the department director. In the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, Rose, of course, apart from the ceremony of submitting letters to President Karol Nawrocki, should also try to develop contacts and be awarded for these efforts or punished for their lack.
Above all, however, the future ambassador should be reminded that one of the previous US ambassadors in Poland Lee Feinstein left Poland faster than he planned. It did not happen, as he says, the stumpy rumor, as a result of a discreet expulsion from our country, but as a result of expression of disappointment with his work, which resulted in the fact that Washington himself decided that he should not be prolonged his stay in Warsaw.
The head of diplomacy was then Radosław Sikorski. The reason for the dissatisfaction of the Polish side was, as in an interview with Onet, the interlocutor who knew the backstage of the matter, the ambassador's inability to maintain balance in the approach to the relationship in the Triangle of Poland-United Stanie-Israel. In other words: and the head of diplomacy was the same and the mine field.
