US President Donald Trump and US first lady, Melania Trump, were safe in a support helicopter after the helicopter they were traveling with had a hydraulic problem and had to land on a local aerodrome, the White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt announced on Wednesday.
The incident caused a delay in the arrival of the Trump family at Stansted airport in the UK, where they then embarked on the Air Force One presidential aircraft to return to the US.
“Due to a minor and caution hydraulic problem, the pilots landed on a local aerodrome before reaching Stansted airport,” Karoline Leavitt said.
“The president and the first lady were safely embarked in the support helicopter,” Leavitt added, in a statement sent to journalists traveling with the US president on board Air Force One.

Finally, President Trump left the United Kingdom on Thursday afternoon, after a two-day state visit, marked by a lavish reception from King Charles III and discussions with British Prime Minister, notes AFP.
When he left, the Republican leader greeted journalists, but did not make statements, while he and his wife, Melania, embarked on Air Force One at Stansted airport near London.
Thursday, Trump expressed his disappointment on Vladimir Putin on Thursday in relation to the Ukraine war, in his common press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The head of the British government has requested the “intensification of pressure” on the Kremlin leader.
“It honors me to tell you that I have resolved seven wars, seven unresolved wars, wars that could not be negotiated or resolved,” said Trump, without specifying what conflicts.
The conflict in Ukraine is the “the easiest to solve, taking into account my relationships with Putin, but he disappointed me. I really disappointed me,” Trump continued.
Asked by a journalist why he is disappointed by the Russian president, Trump replied that he “kills many people” in the Ukraine war, although there “more Russian soldiers die than Ukrainians.”
Trump said that a decrease in oil price on the international market would force Russia to cease the war, as it could no longer finance its army. “It is very simple: if the price of oil decreases, Putin will withdraw. It will not have another option,” said the leader from the White House.
