Russian sabotage units tried to enter through a breach created in the Ukrainian defense at the outskirts of Pokrovsk, taking control of buildings and launching ambush, but were quickly rejected.

Attempts failed by infiltration

To the south of Pokrovsk, the Russian sabotage and recognition units managed to infiltrate the city's outskirts through Zvirove, taking advantage of a Ukrainian infantry deficit, which allowed a breach in the front line here. Taking advantage of the local land, groups of Russian soldiers organized ambush, aiming at Ukrainian patrol vehicles, after they were housed in houses in this city.

However, they failed, the Ukrainian command reacting by carrying out a short -reaction units and promptly initiating cleaning operations to neutralize the threat that risks to increase.

Small enemy groups continued the infiltration attempts, mainly at night, in order to ensure their positions waiting for possible reinforcements.

Ukrainian drones enter the key routes to the city

In order to effectively combat additional infiltration attempts, Ukrainian forces have intensified drone surveillance on key infiltration routes, according to images published by the 47 separate assault brigade, which shows the successful neutralization of the enemy infantry near Zvirove.

As a result of these measures, the Russians failed to exploit the breach in defense, unable to regroup quickly enough to launch a frontal attack on the city.

Also, an assault attempt on motorcycles in the direction of Sevcenko was hindered with the help of FPV drones, Russian infantrymen being eliminated before they start to advance.

But the Russian commanders persevered, this time launching a mechanized three -armored attack in the open field. Exposed, Russian armored vehicles were promptly taken by artillery and drones.

Desperate efforts to pierce the front

In desperation, the Russians put in a piece of resistance – a TOS -1 thermobaric artillery system. Although strong, it has proven vulnerable – with an action ray of under four kilometers, it was easily destroyed by Ukrainians.

Russian logistics and command, paralyzed by Ukrainian attacks

Ukrainian attacks with Himars missiles systematically target the concentrations of troops in the city of Donetk and the surrounding area, thus reducing the number of Russian troops from the first line that can numerically overwhelm the defense.

It is a tactic that proves to be effective by drastically diminishing the maneuver space, creating logistics nightmares and forcing the Russian commanders to resort to desperate, insufficiently prepared attacks.

For example, the Ukrainian forces recently made a devastating precision attack on the 8th Army headquarters in Donets. In a first successful attack, the Ukrainians killed the only Russian commander who has obtained real earnings in the last year.

Then, in a second attack, the order was again beheaded by killing its replacement, along with over 10 other high-ranking officers.

Battle for Pokrovsk intensifies

Although the first direct assault attempts have been rejected quickly, the battle for Pokrovsk is in full swing and will probably intensify significantly.

Over 100,000 Russian soldiers were massaged in the region.

The tactics of “total infiltration”

According to the head of the Ukrainian army, Olexandr Sîrski, the Ukrainians are quickly adapted to Russia's new tactics in several threatened sectors of the front, to rush it.

He described in a Facebook post on August 2 that the Russian forces in which the Russians apply the so-called “total infiltration” tactics, in order to pierce the defense without having to launch a wide-sacred attack. Sîrski explained that these efforts include hidden trips to Pokrovsk and other parts of the Donetk region, but that until now these infiltration actions have been crushed before reaching their goals.

The Ukrainian general said that the situation is currently dangerous especially in the directions of Pokrovsk, Dobropillia and Novopavlivka. Russian forces are looking for weaknesses, intensifies their activity and tries to conquer important urban areas in Ukraine. The Ukrainian forces counteract the total infiltration with special mobile reserves, whose role is to search and destroy these teams before they can create problems on the front of the front.

At the same time, measures are taken to strengthen the fortifications.

This year, Russia has largely made the transition from its infamous frontal “meat” to tactics based on attacks with small groups. Instead of large -scale offensives, Russian forces now send teams of only a few soldiers to probe the weaknesses in defense. Once a position is conquered, reinforcements are made to expand and strengthen the support point.
