Russia and China strengthen cooperation. In the background drones and weapon systems

The research of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (Australian Strategic Policy Institute, ASPI), dealing with defense and strategic policy, shows that this cooperation also supports China's development in the field of military strategic and cosmic technologies.
According to preliminary findings of ASPI, based on monitoring conducted from 2019 to the present and confirmed by Radio Swoboda, 68 Chinese universities classified as part of the defense system or under the supervision of the defense ministry “deepened or significantly deepened” cooperation with Russia after 2019. “Dual-USE” range (civil-military).
According to ASPI, the military staff once in China were used to be educated at seven universities, called “seven sons of national defense”. Radio Swoboda claims – based on monitoring conducted by ASPI – that the most fruitful joint activities include, among others Cooperation of Beihang University in Beijing, a university specializing in air engines and drones, with the Moscow Aviation Institute. In turn, XI'an University of Technology in cooperation with the St. Petersburg University of Technology Piotr the Great conducts research on advanced weapon systems. In contrast, the Harbin Institute of Technology has established close cooperation with Russian universities, including He created a joint technical institute with the Bauman University and the Science and Education Center with the State University in St. Petersburg, where both Russians and the Chinese are educated.
China Defense Universities Tracker project extended
ASPI informed on September 17 that he was expanding the China Defense Universities Tracker project (in free translation – monitoring of Chinese military universities) by several dozen subsequent institutions and institutions, including about the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Experts indicate-says Radio Swoboda-that the Chinese-Russian cooperation discussed may have real implications in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, enabling Russia to access innovation and technology from China, thanks to which it can celebrate Western sanctions. China, on the other hand, gain the possibility of transforming the defense sector from the “copying and testing” phase to more independent development of advanced technologies.
