Will Agata Kornhauser-Duda return to work at the Krakow high school after moving out of the Presidential Palace? The Chancellery of the President is evading an unambiguous answer. The first lady could retire earlier, guaranteed by the teacher's card, if not for one snag.

The Presidential Palace published a report summarizing the actions and patronts of Agata Kornhauser-Duda. The main assumptions included: conversation, debate and mutual understanding. “A spouse for 10 years of her activity […] She created a maid space of thoughts, stories and stories. She read books to the youngest […] She talked to the elders about everyday life […] She talked to everyone about dreams, future and plans, big and small ” – it was written.

In turn, the media often described her as a “silent first lady”, which not only did not speak when society was experiencing crises, but also did not try to tone disputes. As Andrzej Duda emphasized in an interview with Telewizja WPOLSCE24:

Speech is silver and silence with gold

And he added that “Zona always said: Andrzej, you were elected the office of the President of the Republic of Poland, you dealt with politics, I do not want to speak on political topics.” In the president's opinion, the first lady often felt forced to speak, fearing “various types of traps”.

Now, when he leaves the exposed position of the first lady, she could retire before reaching the statutory retirement age in accordance with the provisions of the Teacher's Card. This year, this privilege applies to people whose birth date is in the range after August 31, 1966 and before September 1, 1969. As “Fakt” informs, there are two conditions:

  1. The start of the teacher's work before January 1, 1999 and this criterion Agata Kornhauser-Duda meets.
  2. The contribution period must be not less than 30 years, including 20 years in the profession of a teacher or educator. It is true that the Presidential Palace paid all the contributions behind the first lady, it is still missing these years “in front of the board”. She started her school career in 1998, but after Andrzej Duda took the chair of the president (i.e. since 2015), he was on unpaid leave.

It is not yet known whether Agata Kornhauser-Duda will return to work at school. Both the Presidential Palace and the Krakow high school do not want to comment on the case.
