“Every user who wants to publish advertising related to social issues, elections or politics on our platforms, must undergo a verification process to confirm his identity and the fact that he resides in a country where he places these ads. Our findings show that the administrator associated with these parties confirmed his identity and is in Poland. position sent to PAP by the PR Burson agency.

On Wednesday, a scientific and academic computer network announced a possible attempt to interfere in an election campaign. The Internal Security Agency has been notified.

“The NASK Disinformation Analysis Center identified political ads on the Facebook platform, which can be financed from abroad. The materials were displayed on Poland,” NASK said on portal X.

She emphasized that advertising accounts involved in the campaign in the last seven days have spent more on political materials than any election committee. She added that the actions were supposed to seem to support one of the candidates and discredit others.

Advertising campaigns implemented by accounts, according to NASK, particularly concerned Rafał Trzaskowski, Karol Nawrocki and Sławomir Mentzen.

In the afternoon, NASK announced that after its intervention, the owner of Facebook – the company Meta – blocked political ads on the platform that could influence the election campaign in Poland.

NASK information was commented on by Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, who assured that the government deals with the problem of possible interference in elections.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitization Krzysztof Gawkowski announced on Wednesday that on the Meta portal, hundreds of thousands of zlotys were spent on advertising campaigns regarding several presidential candidates.

“This money was not approved by election committees,” he added.

Earlier, at a press conference in Poznań, Gawkowski was asked about the safety of Sunday presidential elections. He assured that the state had introduced systems to protect the State Electoral Commission and the National Electoral Office, regional election committees and election committees.

He added that “cyber attacks can happen”.

“But we have a strong national cyberter that protects us and will protect us. We did everything to make the choices safe,” said Gawkowski. He added that it is about calm elections “as much as you can be calm.”

On Sunday, May 18, the election of the President of the Republic of Poland will take place. 13 candidates will start in them. Any second round is scheduled for June 1. (PAP)
