Megafusion on the sweets market. Family companies from Poland and Germany want to conquer Europe


As reported by the website forhandlu.pl, The Polish company Colian joins forces with the German company Gubor Schokoladen. Thanks to the fusion of two powerful national players, a force will be created that intends to bravely compete in European markets.

A Polish producer who has such brands as Grześki, Goplana, Jeżyki and Śliwka Nałęczowska in its (sweet) basket will enter European markets together with Gubor Schokoladen, which includes brandy such as Sun Rice, Rubezahl, Gubor, Friedel, Eichetti and Pomeranian Pralines. The German manufacturer is also known for seasonal products, such as chocolate figurines – Santa and Easter hares. Both companies connect not only a passion for sweets, but also to adhere to “family values” in business.
“The fusion of Gubor Schocoladen is in line with the strategy of the global development of the Colian Group and creates an excellent facilities to intensify the activities of both companies on local markets and wide outside. Representatives of a German company also speak in a similar tone, with which the Polish producer will make a merger. “Along with the progressive globalization of trade and industry, the scale of activity is becoming more and more important – Production volume and innovation ” – emphasizes Claus Cersovsky, president of Gubor Schokoladen, whose words are cited by the website forhandlu.pl.

As explained by the website forhandlu.pl, Thanks to the merger of two entities from the confectionery industry, an organization will be created that will produce 85 tons of sweets annually. Complete employment in a combined structure will be 4,000. 200 employees, with a Polish company for 2,000 500 employed people. Both companies currently export to several dozen countries (colian to over 70 and Gubor to 50). None of the parties reveal the details of the merger, and the contract provisions will not be made public.
