From Monday, new parking tariffs in the paid parking zone in Krakow will be in force. By the decision of city councilors, prices were raised in each subzone and diversified for residents and people who do not live in the city.

As indicated by the Krakow magistrate, the new rules are to encourage vehicle rotation and shortening the time of parking spaces. The fees are valid from Monday to Saturday, between 10-20. Until now, the fee in the subzone and per hour of parking was PLN 6, in subzone B – PLN 5, and in the subzone C – PLN 4.
After the changes, residents with the Krakow card for parking in the zone will pay in the subzone A – PLN 6 for the first hour, PLN 7 for the second and PLN 8 for the third. In zone B, respectively, PLN 5, 6 and 7, and in subzone C, the fee will be fixed, in the amount of PLN 4. The next hours will cost as much as the first.
The condition for obtaining lower rates is the addition of a vehicle registration number in the Krakow card system. Purchasing a ticket at the KK discount will be possible through mobile applications and parking meters (Strada Evo and Strada PAL models).
For people who do not live in Krakow, the fee in the subzone and for the first hour will be PLN 9, for the second – PLN 10, and the third – PLN 11. In Subzone B, this fee will amount to PLN 8 for the first, PLN 9 for the second and PLN 10 for the third hour, and in the subzone C, respectively: 7, 8 and 9 PLN. The next hours will cost as much as the first.
Krakow councilors decided to raise prices in the paid parking zone and diversify the fees for residents and people who did not live in the city in February 2023, and the changes were originally to come into force from May 15 of the same year. The then voivode of Lesser Poland Łukasz Kmita in the supervisory decision, however, annulled the resolution in the part regarding the diversity of fees for the Krakow card holders. The voivode's doubts raised a provision that lower fees for residents with KK can only be paid through mobile applications.
The introduction of changes was shifted to August 4 this year to adapt the parking meters to pay diverse fees. To this end, the city, among others acquired used parking meters from Warsaw, which replaced older models with limited functions. (PAP)
