Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Washington would supply weapons to Ukraine at the expense of European allies, but did not specify how this will be done.
According to Reuters, Ukraine will determine the weapons priority for supplying with tranches of $ 500 million. Then the NATO allies – under the leadership of the Secretary General of the Alliance Mark Rutte – will agree on each other who will donate or pay positions from the list.
The American official explained that such an approach will allow any country to pass long-term procedures for selling US weapons and replenish their own reserves. But she will have to pay advance to the States for accelerated replenishment.
The European official said that NATO allies hope to provide Ukraine in the amount of $ 10 billion. The supplies are still unclear.
According to two sources, negotiations are currently underway about at least one trench of a weapon for Ukraine as part of a new mechanism.
