“Today, a spy detained two days ago by the Internal Security Agency, acting against Poland and our allies, was imprisoned two days ago,” wrote on Friday Tusk on the platform X. “As I said: anyone who agrees to the security of the Polish state, sooner or later we will get to it sooner or later. Rather sooner than later” – he added.

Minister coordinator of special services Tomasz Siemoniak, by passing the prime minister's entry, added that “on Wednesday, ABW officers detained a citizen of one of the Asian states formed after the collapse of the USSR.”

“He is a staffing officer of a military intelligence who conducted intelligence involved in the security of the Republic of Poland and military allied structures,” Siemoniak wrote on Twitter.

He added that the National Prosecutor's Office charged him and was arrested on Friday for three months.

“The highest professionalism of our officers” – assessed the minister coordinator of the special services.

The National Prosecutor's Office informed on Platform X that the Internal Security Agency detained the man on July 30 in Bydgoszcz as part of an investigation conducted by the Mazowieckie Department of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of PK.

“The prosecutor obtained evidence allowing the foreigner to be presented with an allegation of espionage to the detriment of the Republic of Poland and other countries that are members of NATO,” PK said.

She charged him with participating in the activities of a foreign interview. According to investigators, from March 15 to July 30 in Bydgoszcz and Warsaw as a staffing officer of a foreign military intelligence officer, acting under diplomatic coverage in one of the European countries, “he conducted intelligence involved in the security of the Republic of Poland and military allied structures.”

“The suspect did not admit to committing the alleged act and gave brief explanations,” PK said.

She reminded that the crime of espionage was punishable by 5 to 30 years in prison, and the decision on three-month detention was issued on Friday by the District Court for Warsaw-Mokotowa.
