Two naval incidents took place on Saturday afternoon in the Danube Delta, just a few days after the tragedy in the Bay of Musura. In one of the cases, four people, including two children, were involved in an accident during the maneuvers. In another incident, a boat took water after a catamaran passed, and the passengers asked for the authorities.

A person fallen in water near Crișan

The first incident took place on Saturday afternoon, near the Caraorman Canal, in the area of Crișan. A boat in which were two adults and two children was involved in an incident during the maneuvers. A person fell into the water, but was removed before the rescue crews arrived on the spot.

“All four people in the boat are aware and cooperative, and for their evaluation two naval ambulances, one private and one of the Tulcea County Ambulance Service travels to the place of the event“, Isu Tulcea said, according to News.ro.

Boat in danger of diving on the Sulina channel

On the same day, a second incident was reported on the Sulina channel. A craft with two people on board began to take water after a catamaran has passed. Those in the boat called 112, and the intervention crews came quickly to their aid.

According to ISU, the two people were helped to evacuate the water in the boat and could continue their safe movement, without anyone being injured.

Events come shortly after the tragedy in the Bay of Musura

Saturday incidents are in a number of recent problems in the Danube Delta. Only a few days before, in the bay of Musura, four people, including a child of only three years, lost their lives after a boat with 14 people overturned.

The tragedy happened on Monday, around 7.30 pm. The boat had left the port of Sulina to the Bay of Musura and overturned near the wreck “Turgut S.”, immediately after leaving the Sulina bar. The Romanian Naval Authorities (ANR) said that the incident occurred against the backdrop of extremely difficult weather conditions, with high waves up to two meters.

All 14 people on board were recovered from the water, but four of them, including the child, were declared dead by medical crews.

Military investigation in the case of tragedy

The boat was led by Cosmin Adrian Irimia, a military person. Because it is a military man, the investigation was taken over by the Bucharest Military Court. Irimia is investigated under judicial control, after the court rejected the request of the prosecutors of preventive arrest. However, he has several prohibitions, including leisure boats.

The director of the Tulcea area captain, Dan Ichim, said for News.ro that the Sulina bar had been declared impractical since Monday afternoon due to the bad weather.

The court's decision is not final and can be challenged within 48 hours of communication.
