Compared to 2023, beer production with an alcohol content above 0.5 percent. In the EU it increased by 0.6 percent (+0.2 billion liters), and beer production with alcohol content below 0.5 percent increased by 11.1 percent (+0.2 billion liters).

Eurostat reports that the list of the largest producers in the EU remains unchanged in 2024. Germany is still leading as the largest beer producer with an alcohol content above 0.5 percent, with a result of 7.2 billion liters (22.2 percent of total EU production), as in 2023. Spain with 4.0 billion liters (12.3 percent of total EU production) and Poland with 3.4 billion liters (10.6 percent) are in second place. The Netherlands with 2.2 billion liters (6.8 percent) and Belgium with 2.1 billion liters (6.3 percent) were in the top five producers.

The Netherlands was the largest beer exporter among EU countries with total (inside and outside the EU) exports of 1.5 billion liters of beer containing alcohol in 2024. Compared to 2023, however, this country noted, however, a decrease in beer exports by 12 percent. (-0.2 billion liters).

After the Netherlands in 2024, the main exporters were Germany and Belgium (both exporting 1.4 billion liters), the Czech Republic (0.6 billion liters) and Ireland (0.5 billion liters).

In 2024, France was still the largest importer of beer containing alcohol, with 0.8 billion liters. The other large importers were Italy, with over 0.7 billion liters, then Spain and Germany, each of almost 0.6 billion liters, and the Netherlands with almost 0.5 billion liters. (PAP Biznes)
