The widow is combined benefits, e.g. 100 percent own benefits and 15 percent benefits due after the deceased spouse or vice versa (coincidence). Some of the authorized persons will receive a benefit from two institutions: from ZUS and with another pension body. This means that such customers will receive two payments in different dates in one month.

If the widow's pension application is received by ZUS until July 31, 2025 and is considered positively, the benefits will also be paid for July. The application submitted in the following months and considered positively will launch the payment from the month in which it will go to ZUS.

Applications for a widow's pension can be submitted stationary, at the ZUS facility, but also electronically, among others through an account on the electronic service platform (PUE)/Ezus.

ZUS is one of the institutions that pay these benefits – it will serve about 90 percent. all applications. Other pension bodies accepting applications for a widow are: the agricultural social insurance fund (KRUS), the Prison Service Retirement Bureau (BESW), Military Pension Bureau (WBE), Pension Plant of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration (zero Ministry of Interior and Administration (Zero Ministry of Interior).

In order for ZUS to pay a widow's pension, the applicant should meet all four conditions in total. A woman should be at least 60 years old, and a man at least 65, until the day of the death of the spouse, stay with him in marriage, not to be married and acquire the right to a survivor's pension after the deceased spouse no earlier than on the day of 55 years old by a woman and 60 years old by a man.

ZUS will issue a decision in which he refuses to determine the intersection of benefits, if the widow or widower does not meet at least one of the indicated conditions or if the amount of at least one of the established services is equal to the limit, i.e. three times the amount of the lowest pension, or exceeds it. Limiting the amount of benefits to three times the amount of the lowest pension was used – in the case of the benefits paid so far in the intersection – in 5 percent. cases.

The most common reasons for the negative decisions include: too high amount of the benefit currently paid (above three times the amount of the lowest pension), acquisition of the right to a survivor's pension after the deceased spouse earlier than five years before reaching the universal retirement age, lack of the right to your own benefit, lack of the right to a family pension, entering into a new marriage, not being married to the day of marriage, Failure to reach the universal retirement age.

You can appeal to the court from the decision issued by ZUS on the Widowiej pension. (PAP)
