The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, convened the Supreme Security Council after the authorities warned that Russia, through the Federal Security Service (FSB), is preparing a “massive interference in the parliamentary elections on September 28.

The authorities in Chisinau warned that on behalf of thousands of citizens of the Republic of Moldova, microfinance loans from Russian banks, contracted in their absence are taken.

“You can wake up with debts to the Russian banks, which you do not know. Do not provide your personal data to these criminal groups that only use you,” said Maia Sandu.

He stated that priests are also involved in the scheme, who reminded them that “it is a great sin to sell your neighbor and the country.”

The head of state also claims that Moscow would prepare, through cryptocurrency transactions, illegal financing of 100 million euros.

“All these projects political projects are controlled from the same order point and will receive propagandistic financing and support from Moscow through corruption schemes of the Șor group. The President of the Republic of Moldova also stated that the “Șor” network plans to destabilizing actions, including by recruiting violent persons to vandalize public institutions.

“The Kremlin invests in several political vehicles to put its people in the next Parliament,” said Maia Sandu, considering that the risks for national security and public order are “great”.

Sandu also said that Moscow also plans cyber attacks on the critical infrastructure in the Republic of Moldova. “The objectives of these cyber attacks are the blocking and the electoral infrastructure, the web pages of the state institutions,” the president said.

Social networks will also be used, including Telegram, Tiktok, Facebook, and Instagram, where anti-EU and anti-democratic messages are spread. Sandu said that there are discussions with certain platforms, less with Telegram, which does not respond to the requests of the Chisinau authorities.

Sandu stressed that the mobilization and radicalization of Moldovan citizens will be followed on social networks on social networks, with the help of influences that will instigate extremism and violence.
