According to the CPD, this time the aggressor country came up with a story about supposedly Ukrainian military, which “shot the commander” and “surrendered” to the Russians.
“The video voices a classic set of Russian narratives: violence by command, forced mobilization and” humanity “of Russian captivity,” the center said.
The video has signs of fake, experts of the CPD add: there are no details with which it would be possible to set the time and place of events, a military unit or personal data of the defendants.
The face is disguised, there are no chevrons or evidence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The rhetoric of the hero video copies typical stamps of Kremlin propaganda, say in the center.
“The distribution of such fakes is part of the information operation of the Russian Federation aimed at undermining confidence in the forces of the defense of Ukraine, a decrease in combat spirit and disruption of mobilization processes,” the CPD noted.
It was also recalled that they have repeatedly denied fakes of Russian propaganda about supposedly violence against military personnel from the command.
Context
In March 2025, in the GUR MO they warned that Russia was preparing new units in the troops for information and psychological operations against Ukraine.
On June 9, the Center for Combating the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine recorded a large-scale network of fake sites Copycop (aka Storm-1516, NEVA FLOOD), which is supervised by the main intelligence department of the Russian aggressor country.
