The Mazowieckie Voivode refused to consent to the cyclical march of the Warsaw Uprising – said Robert Bąkiewicz on Friday, who represents the Association of Independence March. Bąkiewicz noted that the March 1 will take place on August 1, because it is registered in a different mode.

The Association of the Roty of the Independence March submitted a request to organize the Congregation, which on August 1 was to celebrate the anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, on October 23, 2024. The organizers wanted the assembly to start at 15.00 at the Dmowski roundabout in Warsaw. Then the march was to pass by Aleje Jerozolimskie through the de Gaulle roundabout, Nowy Świat, Krakowskie Przedmieśm, ul. Miodowa to Plac Krasińskich. The assembly was to end at 21.00. The application for the organization of a cyclical assembly concerned 2025-2027.
The Mazovian voivode stated “the lack of identity of the entity organizing the assembly over the past three years.” In the decision, he noted that in such a situation the Mazovian voivode is obliged to issue a negative decision.
The Mazovian voivode emphasized that in 2022 Paweł Kryszczak was the organizer of the Congregation. He noted that it was only in 2023 and 2024 that the organizer of the cyclical assembly was the Association of the Rota of the Independence March, and the person authorized to represent it was only Bąkiewicz. The Mazowieckie voivode noted that Kryszczak was the chairman of cyclical assemblies on August 1, 2023 and 2024, but this does not mean that he purchased the status of the organizer in this way.
In the post on portal X, Bąkiewicz announced that despite the refusal of the voivode, the Warsaw Uprising march will take place on August 1. “We have a notification registered in a different mode,” he wrote.
He noted that in 2022 the assembly had to be reported by a natural person, not the association, because before Rafał Trzaskowski “blocked them unlawfully”, and this decision was maintained by Warsaw courts: district and appeal. He emphasized that the Supreme Court decided that the cyclical assembly was important and functioned. “It is not us who interrupted the continuity – it was the unlawful actions of the authorities and courts that prevented us,” wrote Bąkiewicz.
In June 2023, the Supreme Court overturned the decisions of Warsaw courts not to consent to granting the status of a cyclical assembly to the Warsaw Uprising march and restored the power of the voivode, which gave this march such status.
Rota of the Independence March obtained permission to a cyclical manifestation in 2022-2024, but the president of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski appealed to the court in this case. The Warsaw District Court decided that Rota should not get permission to organize cyclical assemblies. The appeal was then lodged by the organizers of the march, the voivode and the Warsaw regional prosecutor, but the Court of Appeal in Warsaw in July 2022 dismissed all the complaints. At that time, the prosecutor general Zbigniew Ziobro lodged an extraordinary complaint in this case. (PAP)
