Atletico Madrid and Arsenal have met before this European season, in the league phase. On October 21, Arsenal prevailed in London with a score of 4-0.

The two coaches prefaced tonight's duel.

The Champions League means everything to an athlete, a huge competition, at a club we've never managed to win, where we've reached four semi-finals in the 14 years I've been here.

I don't feel any pressure! There is no pressure, but there is a sense of responsibility.

– Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid coach

A very difficult match. They are a team with so much experience in the competition who have every right to be here because what they have done is outstanding. We know the difficulty of the match, but I think we showed in Europe, on any pitch, what we are capable of. We have been very consistent and tomorrow we have to play with that confidence, with that desire and will, to come here to win the game.

– Mikel Arteta, Arsenal coach
