“As for the thesis that the anti-corruption authorities are not needed-this is absolutely not true. Firstly, we improve the results of our work every year and they are obvious. You can look at the list of subjects that we were held accountable. None of the country has such a list,” the head of the CAP answered.
He emphasized that there are already sentences regarding corruption, and they entered into legal force. In addition, Klimenko noted, there are cases that are considered in court.
“I explained our indicators to the president that they really increased more than half and constantly grow. We have a good result of work. A huge number of people were held accountable! We provided the transfer of more than 2.5 billion UAH for the needs of defense forces. Our work is constant and systematic,” he said.
Klimenko believes that it takes time to influence the overall level of corruption in Ukraine.
“The cases that we investigate are large and voluminous. Economic cases are not investigated for a year or two. Some are involved in other jurisdictions. For example, we have a business where five jurisdictions, we cooperate with the prosecutors of the five countries. You will see that the level of corruption in Ukraine will decrease,” he explained.
According to the head of the SAP, the facts of corruption “are in all countries of the world, no one has overcome them completely.”
“The question is how to evaluate how effective the country is to combat corruption. It is necessary to take into account how many people it has brought to justice, how pre -trial investigations are carried out that there are no inviolable persons who have committed corruption crimes. And, in my opinion, we are an effective anti -corruption institution, and in general, the anti -corruption infrastructure in Ukraine is effective,” said the anti -corruption infrastructure, “said it Klimenko.

On July 22, the Rada adopted bill No. 12414, which involves the expansion of the powers of the Prosecutor General, including in relation to criminal proceedings engaged in NABU and SAP. Law of the same day signed President Vladimir Zelensky, the document has already entered into force.
