

The first package involves the acquisition and maintenance of the HAWK air defense system (for $ 172 million).
The department noted that the Ukrainian government requested the purchase of goods and services related to the provision of HAWK missile system, including:
- five -ton trucks;
- spare parts to the HAWK system;
- reconstruction and overhaul of firing air defense systems HAWK;
- instruments;
- test equipment;
- auxiliary equipment;
- technical documentation;
- education;
- technical support and support of field offices of the US government and contractors;
- technical assistance to the US government and contractors;
- containers for storage and equipment associated with storage of spare parts;
- Spare parts to the MIM-23 HAWK rocket and missile repair;
- and other related elements of logistics and software support.
In the second package, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and the possibilities of their maintenance and repair are indicated. Its total value of the United States is estimated at $ 150 million.
The Pentagon emphasized that “the sale of this equipment and support will not change the basic military balance in the region” and “will not have a negative impact on US defense.”
“This proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and goals of the national security of the United States, improving the ability of Ukraine to ensure its own defense. This proposed sale will improve the capabilities of Ukraine to confront current and future threats, additionally equipping it for self -defense and regional security missions with a more powerful potential of air defense. Ukraine will not have difficulties with the introduction of these goods and services in its armed forces Forces, ”the release says.
