Although it was released only a few days ago, a Romanian film quickly climbed the Netflix chart.
A Romanian comedy took first place in the top films on the streaming platform, after only two days, according to Pagina de Media.
Neighbor, on the 1st place in the top of Netflix movies
“Vecina”, produced by Mircea Bravo, was added to Netflix on January 21. The film was released in theaters last year in September.
Inspired by a real experience of Mircea Bravo, the film “Vecina” explores the chaos created in a block of flats with the appearance of Doina, an extremely conflicted tenant.
Her obsession with silence and constant calls to the police turn the life of the neighbors from a mundane one into a real nightmare.
“I lived in terror for 10 years. My neighbor made me sell my apartment for 15,000 euros cheaper, just to escape. Now I thank her. She became a source of inspiration for Neighbor, the new Bravo Films production,” said Mircea Bravo.
The cast brings together Costel Bojog, Adrian Cucu, Bogdan Bob Rădulescu, Oana Zara, Cristina Buburuz and, of course, Bunica Lenuţa, an already emblematic character for Mircea Bravo's audience.
The direction is signed by Cristian Ilișuan, known for the films “Wedding on money” and “Death on vacation”, in collaboration with Eugene Buică, in the role of co-director.
Romanian movies on Netflix
Netflix hosts an impressive collection of Romanian productions, from successful series originally broadcast on Antena 1, such as Adela, Lia, Sacrificiul or the newest title, Iubire cu parfum de lavandă, to the most popular comedies of the moment.
Fans of Mircea Bravo can watch Mortea en vacanță, Mirciulică and Nuntă pe bani, while fans of commercial cinema have at their disposal hits such as Team Building, The perfect candidate, Miami Bici or Retreat Vama Veche.
