The city of Odessa, from southern Ukraine, was targeted on Wednesday night by a new massive drone attack of Russia, with several civil infrastructures, including Privoz Square, the city's emblem, reports Kyiv Independent.

The state's emergency service announced in the early hours of the morning that Privoz Square burns after the attack, specifying that local teams were already on the spot, trying to extinguish the fires triggered in several commercial pavilions.

“Privoz from Odessa is not only a market, but it is the true heart of the Odessa region, where life pulsates and feels the rhythm of the city. It is the place where you can truly know Odessa! Rescue teams eliminate the consequences of Russian terror and try to save this important place for the inhabitants of Odessa and for each tourist,”

Several explosions have been reported, and the air raid laces rang in the city until 2:36 in the morning, the local time. Local authorities announced three injured after last night's attack, indicating that it is just a provisional balance.

According to the governor of the Odessa region, Oleg Kiper, several fires were triggered in the city, which affected several residential buildings, a shopping center and a gas station.

According to Kiper, the Russian drones also caused damage to the architectural and historical heritage in the city center.

“The architectural monuments in the historical center of the city of Odessa, which are under UNESCO protection, have been affected,” said Odessa region, Oleh Kiper, in a post on Telegram.

Attack, a few hours after Istanbul negotiations

These attacks intervene just a few hours after Tuesday evening discussions in Istanbul between Ukrainian and Russian delegations.

The negotiators agreed on a new exchange of 1,200 prisoners on each side, announced Vladimir Medinski, the head of the Russian delegation. Moscow also proposed to Kiev to return 3,000 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers.

Mendinski also continued, Russia also proposed a series of short armies of “24-48 hours” on the front, so that the two armies could recover the dead and the wounded. Ukraine says he wants an immediate and longer -term fire.
