Soda food is an affordable and universal remedy that can become a real assistant in the garden. It is used not only for cleaning in everyday life, but also for feeding plants, protection against diseases and pests, as well as to improve the quality of the soil. Below are proven ways to use soda in garden work. They were shared by the author of the TG channel “My cottage. Garden and garden” (16+).

Feeding of cucumbers

Soda can be used to stimulate the growth and strengthening of cucumbers. To do this, 1 tablespoon of soda is dissolved in a bucket of water (10 liters). The resulting solution is watered at the rate of 0.5 liters per bush. The procedure is repeated every other day. This helps not only strengthen the plants, but also make them less vulnerable to diseases.

The fight against powdery mildew and caterpillars

A solution of soda is also effective against powdery mildew. In this case, a more concentrated composition is used: 4 tablespoons of soda per bucket of water. They spray the leaves once a week in those places where the defeat is observed. Spraying is best done in the evening. This prevents the burns of the leaves that may occur when processing in hot daytime weather.

The same solution helps in the fight against caterpillars. It is enough to spray the crowns of plants every three days. Similar processing can be carried out for the prevention of grape diseases. In this case, the procedure is repeated every two weeks.

Soil deoxidation

Soda can be used as a means for deoxidation of the soil. When planting vegetables, one small pinch of soda is added to each hole. This helps neutralize excess acidity, improving the conditions for plant growth.

Prevention from slugs and ants

To scare away slugs and ants, a double reception is used. First, the leaves of the plants are sprayed with ordinary water, and then baking soda is scattered in the places where the pest accumulations. It creates an unfavorable environment for insects and helps protect the crop without the use of aggressive chemicals.
