Sources from the New Left donated PAP that the Sejm Deputy Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty intervened at the Chief Labor Inspector Marcin Stanecki regarding the tragic death of a 48-year-old employee of Amazon in Sosnowiec. According to these sources, nationwide inspections in its warehouses are to start in the coming days.

“Gazeta Wyborcza” informed about the death of a 48-year-old employee of Amazon in Sosnowiec, which occurred in June. The head of the Sosnowiec-Południe District Prosecutor's Office, Damian Kabała, reported “GW” that the accident was to occur for natural reasons. “The death of a 48-year-old man occurred for natural reasons. He was walking the corridor and fell over at some point,” Kabała reported. The prosecutor on the spot, he abandoned the activities and did not order an autopsy.

As the newspaper wrote, activists of the Employee Initiative in Amazon then emphasized that work in the plants is combined with physical fatigue and action under continuous pressure. One of the former employees of the plant in Sosnowiec pointed out that many employees of the department in which the dead 48-year-old worked, during the change of about ten hours, covers up to 30 kilometers.

Deputy Marshal of the Sejm and co -chairman of the new left Włodzimierz Czarzasty met in Sosnowiec last week in this matter with representatives of the Amazon employee initiative. According to PAP sources, during the conversation, the topic of previous fatal cases in other Amazon logistics centers, insufficient controls and system neglect were raised. The trade union side indicated the need to carry out additional inspections and legislative changes.

According to PAP interlocutor, the head of PIP declared personal supervision over the case and taking appropriate explanatory and repair actions. According to this information, in the coming days, controls of the National Labor Inspectorate are to start, which are to cover Amazon warehouses throughout Poland.

A Amazon representative, Aleksander Zarychta-Kuzalska, after a tragic event assured in Gazeta Wyborcza that the company's priority is employees' safety. “Nothing is more important than the safety of our employees. That's why we have professional 24-hour medical service service and over 200 people trained in the field of first aid at our logistics center in Sosnowiec”-emphasized Zarychta-Kuzalska.
