PSD threatens again with the exit from the government. Paul Stănescu: “Reforms are not done with administrative terror”

Paul Stănescu emphasizes that the PSD cannot accept that the coalition, USR and PNL partners, continuously attack the party, but have the vote of support of the social-democrats when it comes to assuming the responsibility. The Secretary General of the PSD harshly criticizes the new measures announced by the Government, which he considers heirs, and threatens with the exit from the government.

“The simplest would have been to stay in opposition. But, in the past, and now, the PSD has entered the government for a single reason: to develop Romania and to increase the standard of living of Romanians. efficiency, a reform built on intuition, not on real evaluations in this model, is promoted. Approach in which essential investments are renounced in local infrastructure and development, largely in advanced stage of execution, only to do well to figures ”says Stănescu.

He points out that Romania is not a ship that sinks and that the reforms are not done by administrative terror, but through dialogue, balance and responsibility.

“We cannot accept that the prime minister and other coalition leaders promise opening, but in reality any decision is made without any analysis done together with all the factors involved.”says the social-democratic leader.

He also adds that the PSD cannot accept that the coalition, USR and PNL partners continue the party continuously, but to have the PSD's support vote when it comes to taking responsibility.

“In these circumstances, I think that a meeting of the coalition is urgently required to discuss the measures that affect more than the local administrations, public investments and vulnerable Romanians. And we must decide urgently in the party. If we remain in government. We can support the necessary reforms in Parliament, but we will not accept that people's lives are sacrificed for a cold and unfair accounting plan. PSD will support any measure that eliminates waste and abuse, but will not confuse responsibility with austerity and recession!”, Concludes Paul Stanescu.

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan presented the package of measures regarding the local public administration reform on Friday, announcing that we will have a maximum number of employees of the Romanian town halls, depending on the size of the locality and a maximum number of employees of the county councils, but also the reduction of investments.

He also stated, in connection with assuming liability on the new package of measures regarding the reform of the public administration, that a decision will be made in the coalition on how these packages will be adopted, from a legal point of view, until the end of July.
