Jarosław Kaczyński comments on Zbigniew Ziobro's visit to the USA. He attacks the prosecutor's office


On Friday, Democratic Congressmen Gregory Meeks and James Raskin sent a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio asking for clarification on whether it was true that his deputy, Christopher Landau, facilitated Zbigniew Ziobro's escape from Hungary to the United States by helping to expedite the issuance of a visa for the former justice minister.

On Saturday, during a press conference, journalists asked PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński about this letter to Marco Rubio.

I don't know what Zbigniew Ziobro is doing in the United States at the moment. I do not treat this event with these congressmen as something important

The PiS president added that “the decision is currently being made by others and it is a decision completely consistent with international law and Mr. Ziobro's situation.”

Mr. Ziobro is now a man who can move around the world peacefully. This is the first thing. And secondly, these allegations, these twenty-six points, are nonsense

– said the president of PiS, referring to the fact that, according to the National Prosecutor's Office, Zbigniew Ziobro allegedly committed 26 crimes.

Democrats wrote a letter to Marco Rubio. They want explanations regarding the visa for Zbigniew Ziobro

The matter of the letter sent to Marco Rubio on Friday was reported by Reuters, which obtained its content.

In this letter, Democrats demand, among other things: clarifying the possible role of the US ambassador to Poland, Thomas Rose, in the case. They also warned that the way the US administration treated Ziobro's case could cause serious tensions in relations with Warsaw.

They also called on Donald Trump's administration to comply with Polish requests to extradite the former minister.
