On the night of May 17 (from 19.00 on May 16), the aggressor country Russia attacked Ukraine with 287 attack drones. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this.
The drones flew from the following directions: Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russian Federation.
According to preliminary data, as of 8.00, air defense shot down/suppressed 279 UAVs in the north, south and east of the country.
Impacts from eight attack drones were recorded at seven locations, as well as falling debris at seven locations.
At night, the Russians attacked, in particular, four districts of the Dnepropetrovsk region, the State Emergency Service reported.
Eight people were injured, three of them in Dnieper. There, as a result of the attack, fires broke out and residential buildings and businesses were damaged.

In the Krivoy Rog region, an infrastructure facility and a private house were damaged. Four people were injured.
In the Nikopol region, as a result of shelling, an enterprise, infrastructure, residential buildings and high-rise buildings were damaged. In the Sinelnikovsky district, the Russians attacked the territory of a private household. One person was injured. The business was also damaged.
In the Zaporozhye region, the invaders attacked a gas station with a drone, said the head of the OVA, Ivan Fedorov. There was also a fire there. A woman was injured.
The Russian Federation also launched a series of attacks on Sumy at night. According to the State Emergency Service, as a result of the attack, windows in multi-storey residential buildings were broken, civilian transport was damaged, as well as one of the shopping centers.
In Kherson, a man was injured as a result of a drone attack, the OVA said.
