Every summer the same story – removed early cabbage, and the bed is empty, as if scorched. The earth dries, cracks, watering does not help, and it is better not to even remember about loosening. Meanwhile, it is at this moment that you can lay the foundation of the future crop – without manure, without compost, without unnecessary costs.
In July, the empty land loses not only moisture, but also life, but meanwhile, if immediately after cleaning is sowing the siderates, then in just 6-8 weeks the soil will noticeably come to life. The roots of these plants loosen the soil, absorb moisture and saturate the earth with organic. No purchase compost will give such an effect, especially in the heat, when it simply dries and loses everything useful.
It is necessary to break the bed into areas, sow fatselia, mustard, oats with Vika and even rapeseed. In a month, the result will be on the face, and the soil will become much softer, the water will be absorbed and the plants will feel noticeably better.
The main conclusion: do not leave the beds empty, because green fertilizers work, and work powerfully. This is not just a way to save, but a real way to restore fertility, not carrying bags with humus and without spending thousands of rubles. Especially if you do everything according to the mind: sow in time, pour before landing, do not mow in the fall and remember the crop rotation.
