“Has a penchant for spending taxpayers' money.” NBU advised Smilyanskyi should not speculate on the issue of veterans' services
Commenting on the statements of Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilyanskyi, Deputy Chairman of the NBU Dmytro Oliynyk said: “The agency model is too simple and quick a solution for a person with ambitions and a desire to spend taxpayers' money.”

According to him, “Ukrposhta” can already provide financial services in the front-line territories within the limits of valid permits and without obtaining a banking license.
The NBU also stated that the accusations of allegedly blocking work are speculation on the topic of veterans and residents of frontline regions.

According to Oliynyk, it is necessary to protect the stability of the financial system and depositors' funds from unhealthy ambitions and ill-conceived initiatives, using the available tools, and “we will continue to do so.”
