Orange and yellow storm warnings. Counties in which population is advised to avoid outdoor displacement

Meteorologists issued on Sunday, July 6, two nowcasting warnings of short -term dangerous weather phenomena, valid for Vrancea and Buzău counties.

In Vrancea county, Odobești, Cotești, Vârteșcoiu, Gura Caliței, Poiana Cristei, Cârligele and Andreiașu de Jos are under Yellow Code from 14:00 until 3:00 pm, the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) transmits.
Torential showers are expected that will accumulate between 15 and 25 l/sqm, accompanied by electric discharges and small hail, with a diameter of under 2 cm.
In Buzău county, Nehoiu, Gura Teghii and Siriu are under immediate severe orange code, between 13:50 – 14:30.
According to meteorologists, abundant showers will be reported with water quantities between 25 and 40 l/sqm, medium -sized hail (2-4 cm), frequent electric discharges and wind gusts that can reach speeds of 50–55 km/h.
The population in the targeted areas is advised to avoid outdoor displacements during phenomena and take protective measures, especially in the case of sudden wind intensifications or hail falls.
Also on Sunday, ANM announced that, between July 6, at 10 to 7, 10 o'clock, a red code warning will be valid for Mehedinti, Dolj, Olt and Teleorman counties, where maximum temperatures of 38 … 41 degrees will be recorded.
