On Thursday, the Warsaw -Praga District Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation into abuse when counting votes during the second round of presidential elections at the District Electoral Commission in Mysiadło – the press spokeswoman of this prosecutor's prosecutor's prosecutor Karolina Staros said.

“The investigation was initiated on the basis of an election protest directed to the Supreme Court by the electoral representative of the presidential committee for the presidential candidate Rafał Trzaskowski. In the protest, irregularities were indicated when calculating votes in a number of electoral commissions, including in the regional electoral commission in Mysiadł,” the prosecutor informed.
She added that the protest was accompanied by, among others A written statement of a member of the commission in Mysiadło, in which he indicated that in connection with incorrect entry in the system of the State Electoral Commission data on the number of votes cast for individual candidates took place – incompatible with the actual voting result – the opposite of the number of votes to individual candidates.
Prok. Staros reported that in connection with July 3, the prosecutor from the Warsaw-Praga District Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation into admission to abuse when calculating votes in connection with the elections of the President of the Republic of Poland conducted on June 1 in the District Electoral Commission in Mysiadł, by incorrectly assigning votes cast for candidates.
So far, other investigations have already been informed about irregularities in peripheral election: in Włocławek, Jelenia Góra, Opole, Bielsko-Biała, Kraków, Katowice and Gdańsk.
On Monday, national prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk appointed a team to coordinate proceedings regarding electoral irregularities. It is headed by prosecutor Katarzyna Kwiatkowska, and in his composition were prosecutor Jolanta Kordulska and prosecutor Bożena Makuch.
“The team's task is to determine, among others, whether there has been: destruction, damaging, hiding, processing or counterfeiting protocols and other election documents, allowing abuse or admission to abuse when receiving or calculating electoral votes, confirming untruths in election documents by persons authorized to issue,
She also stipulated that the National Prosecutor's Office and the appointed team would not affect the course of proceedings by individual clerk prosecutors. Prok. Adamiak informed that 29 proceedings are currently conducted regarding possible irregularities in elections, as well as 53 checking proceedings.
Last week, the prosecutor Adamiak reported that the prosecutor from the PK Department of Court proceedings took part in the SN meeting, during which the voting cards were inspected from three regional election committees. As she passed, during the action it turned out that in the committees in Staszów and Magnuszew votes cast to Karol Nawrocki were attributed to Rafał Trzaskowski. However, in the commission in Mysiadło Trzaskowski's voices went to Nawrocki.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court, in the composition of the entire Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs, found the validity of the election of Karol Nawrocki as the President of the Republic of Poland. The Supreme Court recognized 21 protests as justified, although without affecting the election result. This group included matters of several regional electoral commissions, where after the inspection of electoral cards, it was established incorrectly assigning votes to individual candidates in the second round in the reports of the commission or irregularities in counting votes.
“The Supreme Court indicates that applications raised in electoral protests could not be taken into account for recalculating votes in all peripheral election committees in Poland. The provisions of the Electoral Code do not provide for such a possibility” – the president of this chamber Krzysztof Wiak pointed out in the justification of the decision.
