The European Parliament votes next week the censorship motion against Ursula von der Leyen

The European Commission headed by the President Ursula von der Leyen will be subjected to the European Parliament (on) a censorship motion.

The president on, Roberta Metsola, informed on Wednesday night on the leaders of the MEP groups about this evolution, Agerpres reports.
The censorship motion was initiated by the Romanian MEP Gheorghe Piperea, affiliated with the European Conservative and Reformists (ECR).
The motion accuses the commission of lack of transparency and abuse, especially in relation to the management of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The motion needed to support a tenth of the EP members, that is, at least 72 signatures, to be taken into account and voting in the next week's plenary session.
If the motion passes, the current commission will have to resign in the block – the president and the 26 commissioners.
Such a scenario is considered, however, unlikely, as it would require a double majority consisting of two -thirds of the votes expressed and representing a majority of the 720 mandates in the European Parliament, adds DPA.
