Northern Macedonia has forbade access to forests to prevent vegetation fires, while the country is hit by a new wave of heat, informs EFE, quoted by Agerpres.

The general prohibition on walks through forests and mountains was decided on Tuesday by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in North Macedonia. It is valid until August 31, as a precaution for fire prevention.

“The movement of the citizens can be done only on the basis of a written permit, issued by the state institutions responsible for managing and protecting the mountains,” the ministry announced in a statement.

Those who do not respect this measure risk fines between 1,500 and 2,000 euros.

Temperatures up to 41 degrees

According to the country's hydrometeorological service, in the coming days, especially after Thursday, temperatures will rise to 41 degrees Celsius, including in the Skopje capital, and rain chances are virtually zero.

In Kosovo, the neighboring country, according to the news portal “Koha”, the temperatures will reach 37 degrees.

In Albania, temperatures between 39 and 41 degrees Celsius are expected in the following days, especially in the southern and northern valleys.

Pleasant weather is forecast on the coasts of the Adriatic and Ionic seas, with temperatures that reach 32 degrees Celsius, but no rainfall is expected here, the A2 television station in Tirana reported on Tuesday morning.
