The Polish producer estimates losses after a huge fire. It started with the roof


According to Profit, the fire broke out on Sunday evening. The flames quickly covered the roof, the solar panels and the interior of the building. The magazine, located near Bucharest on the A1 motorway, was rented by the LPP group just a few months earlier. He was to handle nearly 400,000 sales transactions per day. It is not yet known how large the losses after the fire are, although according to “Gazeta Brasowului” these are damage to millions of euros. However, according to Peter Ceresnik, managing director of CTP Romania (owner of the property where the LPP magazine was located), there were no victims in people.

LPP Group after a fire: estimation of losses is underway
As a result of a fire, thick smoke appeared over the immediate area. The authorities issued alert warning against toxic fumes for residents of nearby towns.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established. About 70 firefighters in 12 fire -fighting vehicles took part in his extinguishing. There were also ambulances and cars for rescue operations at heights.
“Material damage will be determined later,” said CTP Romania, cited by Profit.
– The teams present at the scene of the incident quickly located and professionally coped with the situation, limiting the fire to one building and only to its part, without spreading to other buildings in the park – said Peter Ceresnik, adding that the activity, which has been taking place so far in the destroyed building, will be quickly transferred in such a way as not to disturb the current operations of the tenant's company.

The LPP Group is a Polish clothing manufacturer, known under the brands: Reserved, Sinsay, Cropp, Mohito and House. In Poland, it has over 1.2 thousand shops. It has been operating on the Romanian market since 2007 and has a network of over 200 stores here. It employs nearly 4,000 in Romania employees.
The LPP company in a statement, cited by Bankier.pl, announced that “the estimation of losses was underway. The hall was covered by property insurance and the Business Interruption policy”.
We also read in it: “At the moment, we focus on redirecting all operations to our other warehouses located in Europe, so that the distribution of products takes place without interference.”
