Coach Dan Petrescu explained that his position at CFR Cluj is not a safe one, being able to break up at any time by the Gruia group.
Petrescu returned to CFR Cluj in the spring of last year, and in season 2024/25 he won the Romanian Cup and finished second in Superliga.

CFR Cluj is currently in the cantonment in Austria. The season will start on Saturday, when it will take with the FCSB for the Romanian Super Cup, and will later play in the first preliminary round of Europa League Paksi (Hungary), June 10 and July.
In Superliga, Dan Petrescu's team will debut on July 13, from 9:30 pm, against Unirea Slobozia.
