US President Donald Trump on Sunday rejected the importance of Beijing associated aggressive actions, including the recent arrest of two Chinese citizens accused of illegally introducing a dangerous pathogen in the United States, saying that “the world works,” AFP reports.
Trump told Fox News that Washington behaves in a similar way.
“Don't you think we do this? We do, we do a lot of things,” said the American leader.
“That's how the world works. It's a hard world,” he continued.
The US President answered a question about how the Chinese theft of intellectual property, pirate the American telecommunications system and the controversy of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
He also rejected concerns about the case of the two Chinese citizens who were accused last month of illegal introduction of a toxic fungus.
Yunqing Jian, 33, and Zunyong Liu, 34, are accused of conspiracy, smuggling, false statements and visa fraud.
The American Department of Justice said about the two of having conspired to illegally introduce a fungus called Fusarium Graminearum, which causes “Manea Spica”, a wheat disease, barley, corn and rice.
Trump minimized the situation, saying, “You don't know where it came from, however. I mean, it came from the country or is it about three crazy people who happened to something?”.
Donald Trump: “We understand each other with China”
Speaking of the commercial war between the US and China, Donald Trump seemed to give a signal of satisfaction, saying: “We get along well with China.”
“I think to understand us with China is a very good thing, but they pay substantial rates,” the American leader added.
Last week, the White House reported progress in the situation with China in the field of trade. An official said that the parties have reached an agreement on aspects such as accelerating rare land deliveries to the United States.
Following the Geneva discussions in May, Washington and Beijing have temporarily reduced steep, mutual customs tariffs for the products of the other party.
