CINEPOLITICA returns to Bucharest between May 15 and 17, at the Muzeul Tăranului Cinema

The CINEPOLITICA series comes to Bucharest, between May 15-17, at the Muzeul Țăranului Cinema, with six screenings of fiction and documentary feature films, in a national premiere. This year's selection brings together multi-awarded films in major international festivals, intense thrillers and powerful documentaries about memory, extremism, war, resistance and the abuses of contemporary systems.

Friday, May 15, from 6:30 p.mthe series CINE POLITICS debuts with the screening of the documentary Riefenstahl (dir. Andres Veiel, Germany, 2024), awarded with Venice Film Festival Cinema & Arts Awarda fascinating exploration of the famous filmmaker's private archive Leni Riefenstahl and of its controversial relationship with Nazi propaganda. Also Friday, from 20:45the thriller will be screened Prosecution (dir. Faraz Shariat, Germany, 2026), winner of Panorama Audience Award at Berlinale 2026, about a young prosecutor who investigates a far-right network after she becomes the victim of a racist attack.

The program continues Saturday, May 16, from 6 p.mwith the documentary The Road Between Us (dir. Barry Avrich), awarded at TIFF 2025. Compared to the thriller Takenthe film follows the dramatic rescue mission of an Israeli family during the attacks on October 7, 2023. Also on Saturday, from 8 p.mhistorical drama From Hilde, With Love (dir. Andreas Dresen, 2024), brings to the big screen the true story of a member of the anti-Nazi resistance in Germany during World War II, starring actress Liv Lisa Fries (Babylon Berlin).

On the last day of screenings, Sunday, May 17, from 6 p.mCinepolitica proposes Mortician (dir. Abdolreza Kahani, Canada, 2025), an original film about exile, protest and identity, made entirely with a mobile phone. The evening ends with the screening Made in EU (dir. Stephan Komandarev, Bulgaria, 2025), a social drama about marginalization and exploitation during the COVID-19 pandemic – from 8 p.m.

The tickets to the projections within CINEPOLITICS 2026 are available online on Eventbook.ro (https://eventbook.ro/festival/cinepolitica), in the network of Eventbook partners, as well as at the cinema ticket office, at the price of 40 lei (full price), 20 lei (reduced price for pensioners) and 10 lei (reduced price for pupils and students). Discounted tickets are only available at the cinema box office.
