The car they were in had been recorded by the radar device at a speed of 185 kilometers per hour on a boulevard in Râmnicu Vâlcea, but the driver refused to stop, reports News.ro. The car followed by the police struck, at one point, the district heating pipes on the roadside and caught fire.
According to IPJ Vâlcea, the accident occurred on Saturday night towards Sunday, around 01:30, in the municipality of Râmnicu Vâlcea.
“During an action carried out by the police officers from the Râmnicu Vâlcea Municipal Police, a car was registered by the radar apparatus, traveling at 185 km/h on Dem Rădulescu Boulevard. The driver did not stop at the regulatory signals of the police, continuing the movement. An accident.
The accident intervened forces from the Detachment of Firefighters Râmnicu Vâlcea, with a special fire extinguisher and foam, an unloading vehicle and a SMURD ambulance. Upon their arrival, the entire car was burning, the fire being extinguished shortly.
“Unfortunately, 2 carbonized persons were discovered in the car,” said ISU Vâlcea.
According to the local press, it is about two 23 and 24 -year -olds from Horezu.
The police continue the investigations in order to accurately establish the circumstances of the accident.
