Marius Borg Hiiiby, the 28 -year -old son of the inheritance princess of Norway, is accused of dozens of crimes, including rape, sexual assault and bodily injury, the Norwegian police said at the end of an investigation started 10 months ago, notes Associated Press.
Hiibiby, the son of the Mette-Marit heir princess from a relationship prior to her marriage to the Haakon inheriting prince, has been investigated since she was detained on August 4, 2024. After the news appeared that she had been assaulted, a number of charges have appeared.
Norwegian prosecutor Andreas Kruszewski said that Hiiby cooperated during the police interrogation. The evidence in the file were extracted from sources such as text messages, testimonies of witnesses and police searches, the prosecutor said.
Accusations include a case of rape with sexual act and two cases of rape without sexual act, four cases of sexual assault and two cases of bodily injury, Kruszewksi said in a press conference.
“I cannot go into more details about the number of victims in this case, beyond confirming that it is a two -digit number,” he said.
Hiiiby's lawyer said in an email to Associated Press that the young man “takes the accusations very seriously, but does not recognize any guilt in most cases, especially in cases on sexual abuse and violence.”
The Royal Palace did not respond immediately to a request sent by water e-mail requesting comments.
Hiibiby remains free while waiting for a possible trial and has the right to the presumption of innocence until a court decides otherwise.
The future Queen of Norway made a rage in 2001, when she married Haakon, because she was a single mother who had lived a libertine life with a man who had been convicted of drug charges.
