The Iranian army confirmed on Wednesday the death of an important military commander, Ali Shadmani, who had been seriously injured following an Israeli air blow on June 17, AFP reports.
“General Ali Shadmani, the commander of the Central Central Headquarters Khatam Al-Anbiya (affiliated with the revolution), entered the ranks of the martyrs, who died as a result of the serious injuries suffered during the bombing carried out by the Zionist aggressor,” a statement of this command, quoted by the official IRNA agency.
The death of Ali Shadmani was announced on June 17 by the Israeli army, who presented it as the Iranian military commander with the highest rank and personality closest to the Supreme Guide, Ayatollah Ali Khamena.
The Israeli forces said that Shadmani had died during a night blow on a “Center of the Command in the heart of Tehran”.
Ali Shadmani had taken over his position on June 13 after his predecessor, Gholam Ali Rashid, had died during the first bombings launched by Israel.
