Sânzienele sing at Filipești, in the garden

Today is the day of the Sânziene, small fairies, dancers, crowned with flowers. Eliade tied them to the goddess Diana and Ileana. As a warrior, somewhat reminiscent of Artemis and her impulses, appears in a fairy tale of Hasdeu, in the area of Neamț. It is an old and unique story.
Ileana Consânzeana from this fairy tale appears as a woman of course and beautiful, but, first of all, scary through her goddess.
Ileana Consânzeana mastered over a large land, which no one dared to approach, because this being owned the key to the great mysteries, just like the goddess Diana. Not only was it initiated in metamorphoses and the darkness of death, but it also had an unstoppable physical force. Respectively, in case of danger, she became huge. But it was not enough, so they multiplied, first in three women, all gigantic, who sowed perfectly with each other. This fascinating trinity immediately got wings. Do you imagine how monstrous it was becoming?
Because he had very long hair, he could only wear it braided and twisted in the top of his head, that he looked like a tower.
Huge, unknown and winged. A woman of ten grade.
When the human armies were approaching the border of Consânzena, the three winged gigantics multiplied in ignorance, becoming infinite.
Rots of wings beat the air, sweeping battalions of grieved men, causing the fighting carriages and innocent horses.
Anyone dared to go through its land was swallowed at the speed of lightning. A huge, of the number without number, leaned and, hap-hap, grabbed the darently and chews it between the measures. Shortly afterwards, the bones of the unfortunate were coming out of the huge consignant's neck.
For this reason, near the border, was the White Valley, named because of the bones that whiten the place.
In this story worthy of the Gothic novel, it impresses two things. The fact that the fairy guards a border and, of course, its spectacular multiplications. In no other Romanian fairy tale, Ileana Consânzeana does not appear so terrible, although we find it in a few prepared war, reducible fighters.
As a guard, she approaches Diana and the symbolism of the solstice, is even Iana, with two faces, the monster on the threshold of any world.
And from her multimlications they descended the numerous figures of the summer gods.
The day of June 24 is considered in Romania the feast of Sânzienelor – fairies of fairies but also of flowers. Their name seems derived from Sanctae Dianae (say Eliade, Pârvan) and, as patrons of spells and other mysteries, carry on the tradition of a plant deity, born once in the prehistory of Artemis and Diana, in the endless forests of pre-European targets.
In all the non-Latin peoples, the goddess Diana was associated with the mysteries, because her integration in the medieval beliefs occurred by cultured, through readers, initiated in writing in Latin texts, of which, says Eliade, would have imposed the name of Diana, superimposed on other old vegetable deities.
Anyway, the hot season is installed with heavy struggles and as in any passing act there are victims. The small, dancers and ready to go crazy about anyone who passes their border and put their nose, fly today all day through Bucharest, especially through the Philipeștilor Gardens, on Calea Victoriei, where it is the Age Museum (Casa Filipescu Cesianu). Therefore, if you pass over there today, you are accurately meeting with the Sânzienele, Consânzene minimal and masters of the gate. Put a wish that is definitely fulfilled.
