“The operation of the hammer from the middle of the night”. US reveals the details of attacks against Iranian nuclear installations

The United States officially confirmed on Sunday that the attacks on the nuclear infrastructure in Iran bore the code name “Operation Midnight Hammer” (“The Ciocan Operation at Mizul Night”). The announcement was made by the US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, during a press conference at the White House, in the context of escaping the tensions in the region.

“The blows represented an overwhelming success, prepared in detail for weeks and months”, Hegseth said, emphasizing that the objective of the operation was strictly related to the nuclear infrastructure, not to the Iranian troops or the civilian population.
The American official also stated that the attacks were not directed against the people, but against the “nuclear ambitions of Iran, which were neutralized.”
According to the sources quoted by The Jerusalem Post, one of the major targets of the operation was a complex located in a mountainous area of Isfahan, where there would have been enriched uranium stocks and critical equipment for the Iranian nuclear program. Also, it seems that the Natanz installation was “completely destroyed”, and those in Fordo and Isfahan suffered “major damage”. However, the exact degree of destruction remains, however, uncertain.
Satellite images confirmed traces of attacks
During the Sunday morning, satellite images from the Fortow area indicated possible bombs impact points, as well as signs of a possible soil burst. The fort is known as one of the best -protected Iranian nuclear facilities, being deeply located in the mountain, which made its complete destruction unlikely in the absence of a MOP type penetration (Massive Ordnance penetrating).
However, the preliminary evaluations provided by Israeli officials – quoted by the same publication – indicate that the center would have been “not only damaged, but actually destroyed”, although some analysts require prudence until the independent confirmation of these data.
Trump: “The goal has been achieved”
In a speech held on Saturday night at the White House, US President Donald Trump said the three main uranium enrichment facilities in Iran-Forto, Natanz and Isfahan-were “completely and totally destroyed.”
“Our goal was to eliminate the ability to enrich uranium from Iran and stop the nuclear threat represented by the main sponsor of terrorism at global level,” said Washington leader.
Trump added that the operation, which he qualified as “a spectacular military success”, was possible only through the capabilities of the American army, stating that “there is no other military force in the world that could have performed such a mission.”
The reopening of the Israeli airspace, provided for 14:00, indicates a temporary relaxation, but the geo-strategic effects of these strokes remain carefully followed, given that the official response of the Tehran has not yet been formulated.
