Three young Krasnoyarsk residents with fractures of the cervical vertebrae were brought to the emergency room of the Krasnoyarsk BSMP. This was told in the press service of the medical institution.

Two guys were injured in the pool. One slipped and fell into the water, receiving a fracture and a dislocation of the fifth cervical vertebra. The other ducked and hit his head, which led to the crack in the first cervical vertebra. The third young man distinguished himself – he fell from the horizontal bar. The examination showed damage to the third cervical vertebra.

In each case, the victims needed to establish a metal structure for stabilization. Patients spent a week in the trauma department, after which they were appointed wearing a special corset and released home.

The diver with the damaged first cervical vertebra was installed by the gallo-fixation system. With this design he will have to walk up to three months.

“Frankly, these three victims were lucky. The injuries are serious, but, fortunately, without complications, the integrity of the spinal cord is not broken. Often, such damage leads to a tragic outcome.
