Delvine Relin Meringor, 32, a Kenyan Marathonist who represented Romania at the Paris Olympics, was suspended for 3 years, between January 2025 – January 2028, for violating the anti -doping regulation. The facts date from 2022 and the decision of the suspension was communicated by the Anti -Doping Agency in Kenya in the end of March 2025.

According to the Anti -Doping Agency in Kenya, the athlete “acknowledged the regulation's violation by signing the related document”. Her statement is dated January 10, 2025, 5 months after ranked 7th in the female marathon in Paris!

The athlete tried to come up with an explanation – the documents do not reveal what it is – but failed to provide the experts “a satisfactory or mitigating evidence”. Remaining without options, “she acknowledged that the results found in the tests in her biological passport, collected in the data mentioned above, are a violation of the anti -doping regulation.”

As the athlete accepted the accusation and acknowledged the facts “no later than 20 days after it was notified”, it was Suspended 3 years (January 11, 2025 – 10 January 2028).

In addition, all its competitive results obtained from the moment of the first evidence (October 7, 2022) until January 2025 were canceled. The medals, points and prizes related to those results were declared void!
