Weeds are the problem of each gardener. Plastic borders for 4,500 rubles promised cleanliness, but after the season they overgrown with grass. Pyre's roots laugh at small barriers, but the grandfather’s method with wooden boards solves the problem for years.
What is the trick? The boards are dug by 35 – 40 cm – deeper than the rhizomes of weeds creep (15 – 20 cm). Plastic is buried only by 8 – 10 cm, and the grass easily bypasses it. The tree passes water and air without breaking the soil, and the roots rest on the barrier. For 3 years, not a single weed had a curb. Cost – 1200 rubles per 15 m against 4500 per plastic.
The installation is simple, but it takes time: dig a trench 40 cm, put boards treated with copper sulfate (1 tbsp. Per 1 liter of water), fall asleep and trim. Above the ground – 5 cm so that the lawn mower does not cling.
