Israel must prepare for an “prolonged campaign” against Iran, said the Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli army (IDF), General Eyal Zamir, who asked the Israeli population to prepare for “difficult days”, one week after the launch of bombing on Iran, In, AFP and EFE agencies.

“We are preparing for a wide range of possible events. We have launched the most complex campaign in our history to eliminate such a major threat, against an enemy of such a major, so we must be prepared for an extended campaign,” said General Zamir, in a video addressed to the citizens.

“Despite the significant progress, it is waiting for us difficult days,” he warned, shortly after a new wave of ballistic missiles launched by Iran as reprisals caused over 20 wounded and struck at different points of Israel.

Mutual rocket attacks continue

The Israeli army announced on Friday afternoon that it had launched a new wave of air attacks on the center and west of Iran, after the Israeli Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, ordered an intensification of these bombings. Earlier, around noon, another announcement of the Israeli army mentioned the conclusion of an anterior wave of attacks against 35 missiles and components of the launch infrastructure in the cities of Tabriz and Kermanshah, both in western Iran.

The Israeli Minister of Defense admitted that among the purposes of this military campaign are the undermining of the Ayatollah regime Ali Khamenei, in addition to the neutralization of the nuclear program and the stock of Iranian ballistic missiles.

Claiming that Iran is about to produce a nuclear weapon, Israel, which is an unofficial nuclear power, launched last Friday a strong campaign of aerial attacks that targeted the Iranian military infrastructure (anti -aircraft defense systems, ballistic missiles, etc.), Nuclear infrastructures, as well as to Natanz Arak, where there is a heavy water reactor. Also, high -ranking members from the Iranian army and the body of the Guardians of the Revolution, as well as researchers from the nuclear sector were killed.

The Israeli bombardments have seriously damaged the Uranium enrichment plant in Natanz, where Iran produces uranium with a purity of 60%, close to the 90% level needed for use in a nuclear weapon. The International Agency for Atomic Energy (AIEA) confirmed the direct hit of the underground halls of the Natanz nuclear plant following the Israeli bombing.

Also, four buildings of the conversion plant in Isfahan were damaged. In contrast, the Flydo Uranium enrichment plant, located almost a hundred meters underground under a mountain, has not suffered damages or these are minimal. To hit this plant, Israel needs strong GBU-57 anti-buses, owned only by the US and can only be launched by American B-2 bombers, which would require direct US involvement. US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he will decide in “two weeks” if the US joins Israel in the military company against Iran.
