The feast of Pentecost is celebrated 50 days after Easter and 10 days after the Ascension of the Lord. It is a celebration marked with a red cross in the Orthodox calendar.
The feast of Rusalle is considered one of the most important holidays for believers. The feast of Pentecost is a mobile date and is preceded, “welcomed” by a lot of other festive moments.
For example, the week before Pentecost is one to honor the dead, but also to seek protection against evil spirits. The great fear was that these spirits could destroy the harvest and get sick.
The Pentecost is commemorated by the descent of the Holy Spirit over the disciples of Jesus of Nazareth.
