Donald Trump said on Wednesday that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin should first deal with the negotiated resolution of the Russian War with Ukraine before providing his mediator services in the conflict between Israel and Iran, writes AFP.
“He proposed to do the mediator. I told him: Do me a favor, be a mediator for yourself! Let's deal with mediation for Russia first! OK? You can take care of it (no conflict in the Middle East) later,” Trump told reporters at the White House.
Also on Wednesday, Trump refused to answer reporters questions about the United States of involvement on Israel in the War with Iran.
“I might do it, I might not. No one knows what I want to do. But I can say that: Iran has many problems and wants to negotiate,” commented the US president. He also said that Iranian negotiators suggested “to come to the White House”, but that this is difficult.
The US President said that it is not sure “how long” the conflict will last, given that the Iranian air defense has been decimated. “Two very simple words: unconditional capitulation,” he says. “I am tired,” added Trump, who also stated that, in his opinion, the Iranians have “bad intentions” with the nuclear program of the country.
Previously, in an emergency reunion organized on Tuesday with his security team, Trump said that several scenarios are taken into account, including the direct involvement of the US with Israel.
The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, reacted. He warned that any American attack on the Islamic Republic will have “serious and irreparable consequences.”
