Transaction – French giant enters Romania

The French multinational SPIE, among the largest European providers of multi-technical services in energy and communications, with annual revenues of over 10 billion euros and 55,000 employees, enters Romania, with the acquisition of the local business of the Germans from ROFA Industrial Automation.

The acquisition is part of a larger transaction, through which SPIE indirectly takes control of ROFA, through the SPIE Germany Switzerland Austria (SPIE DACH) division, based in Germany and active in Central Europe, reveals the data analyzed by Profit.ro.

Before being presented here, the information was announced long before on Profit Insider. The operation has now received approval from the European Commission.

ROFA Industrial Automation, based in Kolbermoor, Bavaria, provides engineering services and turnkey solutions for the automation of factories and logistics warehouses, with more than 1,200 employees, in Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, Poland, Hungary, the USA and China.

The group reported turnover of around 430 million euros in 2025.

ROFA Controls Romania, established in 2012, provides support services for group members in the electromechanical construction of production facilities, in the final assembly of control technology and in mobile wiring systems.
