This fierce top dressing “kills” the roots – I thought it would help, and the plants only have a hazy

It would seem a banana peel or coffee grounds – ideal free fertilizers for the garden? There are many similar tips on the Internet, but not everything is so simple. These “natural” top dressing can harm plants more than help, explains the “scientist agronomist” on Dzen.ru (16+)

The banana peel rotes, covers with mold, stinks and lures flies. Coffee grounds acidify the soil, blocks air to the roots and breeds fungi. The egg shell almost does not decompose, and its fragments are injured in the roots. These waste change pH of the soil and disrupt plant power. Plus, they attract slugs, rodents and midges, and decay causes diseases like fusariosis or root rot.

Another problem is overfing: milk or serum cause fermentation, burning the roots. The result will be unpredictable: today it seems to help, tomorrow – the plants are withering. Home waste is unstable, the dosage cannot be calculated. And sharp jumps in acidity or roots burns can ruin the entire crop.

Use proven organic matter: compost, humus, biohumus. They are safe, do not spoil the soil and give a stable effect, as well as liquid top dressing like a nettle or humates will also be suitable.
